The monograph is devoted to some examples of the use of the electro-hydro-pulse effect (Yutkin effect) in railway transport. It is shown that the power characteristics of an electric discharge in a liquid can be divided into two groups: fast, due to the appearance of shock waves in the liquid, and slow, due to the appearance of currents in the liquid. Both of them can be used in railway technologies, for example, shock waves - in high — speed DC circuit breakers, in impact welding devices, when loosening frozen coal in gondolas to give the first flowability, the second — in shock tests of rolling stock.
